Turia's Great Wall Challenge
Story
Hi Everyone!
I have decided to make a difference by creating my very own fundraising appeal for charity. Through here you can easily support my efforts by making a secure donation.
Loss is a subject close to my heart. We lose our loved ones, our old way of life, our dreams of future or our old self. Turia's amazing courage, enthusiasm for life and her big heart to reach out and help others after surviving severe burns to her body has inspired me to campaign for her cause. Support is important when we are striving to find a new way to live and every bit of support for victims of burns will help. I have been at the receiving end of support after my loss - it would be nice to start giving back.
Please support me in my 5 day trek of the Great Wall of China with Turia Pitt - we are raising funds for Interplast, an organisation that sends volunteer teams of fully qualified plastic, reconstructive surgeons, anesthetists, nurses and allied therapists to developing countries in Asia Pacific region to provide surgical treatment and training to local medical partners.
The trek starts on 1 June 2014 and we will part of a team of 20 or so beautiful like minded women, led by the amazing Turia Pitt. This trek will challenge us, enrich us and change us !

Since 1983, we have delivered more than 880 programs across 25 countries, resulting in more than 750 surgical and allied health medical program activities that make a huge difference in the lives of some of the world’s poorest people.
With the support of people just like you, we have:
- Performed more than 23,000 life-changing operations
- Supported more than 70 surgeons and nurses from developing countries to complete part of their training in Australia and New Zealand, including the sole current plastic surgeons in both Fiji and PNG.
- Sent 800 medical volunteers, including doctors, nurses, anaesthetists and allied health professionals, on more than 880 medical programs
- Provided more than 42,000 consultations
