Walking the wall for those who don't have it all
Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my page.
In June 2014, I will partake in TURIA PITT'S GREAT WALL OF CHINA CHALLENGE!
In September 2011, Turia, was caught by a fire when running an ultra marathon in the remote Kimberley region of Western Australia. She suffered horrific burns to 65% of her body and spent five months in Concord hospital enduring endless operations and daily therapy.
Turia has continued to amaze me throughout her journey. She informed me about the charity INTERPLAST. Interplast sends fully qualified Australian and New Zealand volunteer plastic and reconstructive surgeons, anesthetists, nurses and allied health professionals to the Asia Pacific region to provide free surgical treatment for patients living with a treatable disability.
In Australia we can receive excellent standards of medical care, however there are countries less fortunate. That's why i will be "WALKING THE WALL FOR THOSE WHO DON"T HAVE IT ALL"!

Since 1983, we have delivered more than 880 programs across 25 countries, resulting in more than 750 surgical and allied health medical program activities that make a huge difference in the lives of some of the world’s poorest people.
With the support of people just like you, we have:
- Performed more than 23,000 life-changing operations
- Supported more than 70 surgeons and nurses from developing countries to complete part of their training in Australia and New Zealand, including the sole current plastic surgeons in both Fiji and PNG.
- Sent 800 medical volunteers, including doctors, nurses, anaesthetists and allied health professionals, on more than 880 medical programs
- Provided more than 42,000 consultations
