Turia's Interplast Great Wall Challenge

Story

Hi there,

In June 2014, I will be participating in Turia Pitt's Great Wall of China Challenge with 19 other amazing ladies. The purpose of this challenge is to raise awareness and money for an incredible charity called Interplast Australia & New Zealand whilst climbing the Great Wall of China!

Interplast is a non-profit organisation which sends teams of volunteer surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and allied health professionals to the Asia Pacific region to provide free reconstructive surgery to patients who would otherwise not be able to afford access to such services. Turia Pitt is an ambassador for this charity.

In September 2011, Turia was participating in an ultra-marathon in the remote Kimberley region of WA when she was tragically caught in the path of a devastating fire. As a result she suffered horrific burns to more than 65% of her body and spent the following 6 months in hospital receiving intensive treatment for her injuries. Quite simply if it wasn't for the outstanding medical resources made available to her she may not have survived. Turia's road to recovery is nothing short of brave, inspiring and courageous.

I am thrilled to be working with Turia and a team of enthusiastic and determined women with a goal to raise awareness and funds for Interplast Australia & New Zealand. Travelling to China and tackling the Great Wall with these girls will certainly go down as a highlight in my life!

Please help me in my endeavors to make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate than us. I have decided to make a difference by creating my very own fundraising appeal for charity. Through here you can easily support my efforts by making a secure donation.

Click 'Donate Now' to make a secure online donation. All donations over $2 are tax deductible and you will be issued with a DGR receipt via email as soon as you make a donation. Please note that your donation does not go towards my trip to China.

Thanks so much for your support. It's greatly appreciated!

Charmaine xx
